The moonrise coming out of a crazy rock formation in Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. The moon rising on the other side filling in the scene like a flash of lightning. I was able to capture so much detail in this photograph, from the milky way and low light pollution to all the detail in the rock and also helped separate it from the sky. I came out to this spot for sunset but ended up sticking around and I’m glad I did as it’s always a pleasure to be able to photograph the stars… Even after driving over 10+ river beds and sometimes invisible roads.
