On of my best images of the year. I had seen a similar scene to this one many years back when visiting the Badlands but I was late to a shot I had already envisioned, so I kept going reluctantly. This year I was met again with this scene, but with better conditions and a better composition. This was my first photograph of the day too as I had just arrived to Badlands National Park. I saw this incredible bison watching the sunrise while grazing along the hillside. I spent some time with the bison, until they he headed over the hill and was no longer to be seen. It was a magical moment for sure and couldn’t believe my eyes when I came across it.
